On the Buses, a British comedy crafted by Ronald Wolfe and Ronald Chesney, aired from 1969 to 1973. After their previous hits, The Rag Trade and Meet the Wife, were successful on the BBC, the duo faced rejection with this new concept, which centered around a bus depot. Undeterred, they approached Frank Muir, Head of Entertainment at London Weekend Television, who embraced the premise. Although critics were not impressed, the show resonated with audiences, ultimately becoming a beloved staple of British comedy.
